Heathfield Annex is a high security Mental Care Unit located in Stockport Cheshire.
Browns were appointed by Stockport NHS Trust to undertaken major extensions to the facility in addition to internal alterations and refurbishment.
Some parts of the Annex were Grade II listed and so required careful restoration in accordance with the Conservation Officers requirements.
The areas included in Browns scope of works included ward areas, catering facilities, communal areas, administration facilities and also a sport hall.
Construction Challenges:
Due to some parts of the Annex being Listed building Grade II, the initial features of the building had to be retained whilst also creating a state of the art mental care facility.
