Browns undertook the a two phase construction project for Wilmslow Conservative Club. The first phase of the project was the demolition of existing timber buildings and the construction of a new clubhouse. This phase of the project was approximately 12months in duration and the attractive new club house included members area and bar, changing facilities, equipment storage, administration, conference and banqueting suite and stewards living accommodation on the top floor.
In addition to the construction of the club house, the team from Browns also had to take an existing excellently rated Crown Green Bowling green and turn the green through 90 degrees and then restore it to it’s former specification.
Phase 2 of the project involved the demolition of the old club house and the construction of high quality apartments in a 3 storey building over a 18month period.
Construction Challenges:
The team from Browns worked closely with the client to ensure that whilst all construction was underway (both phases 1 and 2) there was no disruption to the club’s activities, as during phase 1 the club continued to use the existing club house and during phase 2 the new club house was in operation. Coupled with this was the remodelling of the existing crown green bowling green and ensuring that once completed the new bowling green performed to the same specification as previously.
