Browns were proud to be contracted by University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology to undertake the restoration of the landmark Grand Entrance.
The Grand Entrance is Grade I listed and hence required sympathetic restoration to the extensive decorative works.
Browns assembled a team of craftsman who were capable of using the original craft techniques employed when the Grand Entrance was first constructed in 1895.
The work undertaken by Browns included the restoration of: decorative plaster works, Burmantofts Terracotta, brass fixtures, mosaic tiling, oak timber and stained glass.
The Grand Entrance has now been fully restored to it’s former magnificent splendour and is an iconic landmark for UMIST.For further information on how we can help bring your project to fruition, call: 0845 500 1860
