
Despite not being a compulsory requirement, Browns Construction Group has already helped 94% of its employees successfully complete training for the new CSCS cards.
This exemplary commitment to employee development and the groups CSCS strategy has earned the company a CSCS Gold Award for achieving the industry’s 75% target for this Award.
The CSCS card demonstrates that the holder is considered to be competent at his/her job and lists all relevant certificates and qualifications the individual may have. It also shows that the holder has undergone health and safety awareness training and testing.
In order to achieve the CSCS card, employees have or are being trained to the appropriate level of NVQ Browns also have an NVQ strategy with 40 plus personnel enrolled or achieved at level 2,3,4 & 5, additional CITB and other accredited training has been completed a health and safety touch screen test. For the latter, Browns Head Office, in Cheadle near Manchester, became accredited as an official CSCS touch screen test centre with internal staff trained as invigilators. Browns now offers this facility to sub contractors in a bid to help them achieve the skills standards set by CSCS across the industry.
